THERE is still a lingering doubt in theminds of many persons that acetylenegas is very dangerous. For instance,the authorities at the last Birmingham CycleShow prohibited the use of an acetylenelamp. The user entered an action for dam-^ age, and the jury accepted his evidence asto the safety of the gas, awarding him ,£10damages. This was a common-sense ver-dict, and finally established the safety andreliability of the gas. Notwithstanding thistest case, with its decisive results, doubtshave been expressed in various Le Neve Foster, an expert, now lendshis authority to the side of the acetyleneadherents.
