Army Lt. Col. Scott Howard, an oral surgeon from Brooke Army Medical Center, works alongside Ghanaian Col. Gordon Appiah, neurosurgeon for the 37th Military Hospital, to perform a right extramandibular tumor excision during the Medical Readiness Training Exercise 16-2 on a 25-year-old female patient who suffered from an massive oral tumor. MEDRETE 16-2 is a mutually beneficial exercise that brings together Ghanaian military and Army medical professionals to foster cooperation while conducting medical specific tasks.
