View out of a crypt house at the Elias cemetery in Dresden. Under the grate there is a walled grave room. The coffins of a family were stacked here. However, this form of burial, unlike earthen graves, caused a great odor nuisance. Crypt buildings with arched front at the cemetery wall are a special feature of the Elias cemetery. The Elias Cemetery in Dresden, Germany, has been disused since 1876 and closed since 1924
