When thebuild of the tree allows of a heading back and yet of the retention of aconsiderable amount of bearing wood, the work is not complicated or difficult. Those branches which point upward and which are carrying thetree beyond the desired height .should be cut away immediately abovea branch which is more horizontal in its growth.
