We had occasion to examine two cases of invagination ofthe skull base. DISEASES OF THE SKULL 123 Case 1.—Female, forty-one years old. Several weeks previously therehad appeared immobility of the head with severe pain in the occiput. Thepain soon abated and in its stead there appeared difficulty in speaking andswallowing. The examination revealed a characteristic position of the headsaid to have been observed for several years by the patient and her rela-tives. The head was inclined backward so that the occiput lay almost onthe back of the neck. The active and passive movement of the head waslimited but not painful.
