Germany, Berlin street art, scrap metal sculptures and artwork on front of abandoned empty Kunsthaus Tacheles building

Germany, Berlin, Mitte, Oranienburger Strasse 54, Kunsthaus Tacheles - May 2012: This is an art centre in Berlin housing artists who are facing eviction. It was originally built as a department store in the Jewish Quarter of Berlin across the road from the synagogue. It later served as a Nazi prison for a short period and after the Berlin Wall came down it was occupied by artists. An eviction was scheduled in 2011 but not carried out and at this time the future of the centre remains uncertain Fotografiska Berlin, Swedish Contemporary Museum of photography, Art and culture, opened on 15th September 2023. The gallery hosts exhibitions and events on in the former Kunsthaus Tacheles, an historic listed building
