They are better for forcing, more vigorous in growth and produce stronger spikes of bloom, of better substance and are more beautiful. Garden Culture: Bulbs may be planted from the end of September until very severe weather sets in The beds should be raised a few inches above the surrounding ground, to prevent lodgments of water, which causes bulbs to rot. Bulbs should be set K to 8 inches apart and 6 to 8 inches deep. If the soil is dry at planting time it should be watered and kept moist while the weather permits. Hyacinths in Pots.
