In politics he has been an earnest Republican. In religion he is a Uni-versalist, and has long been prominent in his denomination in city, state, andnation. On the occurrence of his ninetieth birthday anniversary, he was hon-ored with a public reception in the State House at Concord, which was amarked demonstration of the high esteem in which he is held bj- the Hon.
