He remained in this office about one year,and then entered the North Atdbanuan office,where he spent two years. He then attendedschool for about two years, after which he wasengaged in the office of his father (who was taxassessor) for a short time. He spent one year ina printing office at Entaw, Ala.; returned to Tus-cumbia, and established the Weelly Dispatch, inOctober, 1886. From the very start Jlr. At the age of nineteen years he enteredthe law department of the University of Virginia,and when twenty-two years of age received hislicense to practice from Gov. A. B.
