Basalt rock formations and trees by an old stone wall marking the border of Skógargerdi, a traditional farm by lake Lagarfljot in eastern Iceland

These are images shot while following an old stone wall that is still standing. The wall marked a borderline between farms so that sheep would not wander off. It is made by hand out of the local basalt rocks, forming an uninterrupted line along the hilltops. Now as the sheep have parted the wall has become engulfed in the freshly grown forest creating idyllic scenery.
