Infection after breast reconstruction. Breast of a woman with cellulitis (bacterial infection of the skin, red) and necrosis (tissue death, black). This is a complication of breast reconstruction surgery after a mastectomy. The patient had a latissimus dorsi flap breast reconstruction, where muscle from below the shoulder blade is used to reconstruct the breast.
