Lottie Dod. Portrait photograph of Charlotte Dod (1871-1960), English multi-sport athlete, W&D Downey, 1892
She is best known for being a tennis player, having won the Wimbledon Ladies' Singles Championship five times, the first time in the summer of 1887 at the age of 15. She is still the youngest champion in women's singles. Dod participated in several activities outside tennis, such as archery, hockey, and golf. A silver medal in archery at the 1908 Summer Olympics, two appearances for the England women's national hockey team (which she helped form), and the British Ladies Amateur Golf Championship were among her other accomplishments.
