Signpost along the South West Coast Path at Slapton Sands, with attachment (see description).

The object fixed to the signpost is believed to be the remains of a Forward Facing Aircraft Rocket adapted for firing from a Beach Landing Craft during Exercise Tiger in April 1944, when nearby Slapton beach was a practice area for the Normandy landings. It was discovered here during the construction of a new section of the South West Coast Path in 2015.
