The tetrahedron, or "Tetraeder" in German, on the Beckstrasse mound, can already be seen from a great distance and symbolises the change through which the Ruhr Area has gone. This landmark is made of steel tubes and twisted castings and thus also represents the region's steel industry. The whole construction is approx. 50 metres tall and sits on a 65 metre high mound. Randomly constructed steps and a viewing platform make the construction accessible. The stairs and the platforms lead to a unique panoramic view of the landscape along the Emscher river.
