Then the sac was drawn overto the right side, and a second incision, beginning and endingin the first, was carried round the left side of the peritoneal cavity was now opened in the mid-line, andby means of scissors the pedicle of the sac was cut com-pletely round at the junction with the abdominal parietes,all bleeding vessels being secured during the sac being now drawn forward, sponges were placed inthe abdominal cavity to keep back the intestines.
