Their skin has a warty appearance and ranges from green to brown in colour. Young common toads eat ants and some small flies. Adults eat invertebrates such as insects, larvae, spiders, slugs and worms, which they catch on their sticky tongues. Magnification: x15 when printed 10 centimetres wide.
