Staples, John Nelson, general stores ; HowardStaples, hardware, at the south end. Postmaster, ThomasF. Staples; mails daily from Eliot Station. ELIOT. Eliot, a station on the Portland, Saco and PortsmouthRailroad, near the centre of the town, is surrounded by amore broken farming country, and contains, besides thedepot and half a dozen dwellings, the stores of WilliamRobinson, Jasper Shapleigh carriage-shop near by, and thepost-office in the depot.
