Greenmount United Reformed Congregational Holcombe Rd Greenmount Bury BL8 4HF The place of Greenmount started with the building of the Sunday School in 1848 founded by Robert Hadfield Samuel Knowles and Samuel Beswick first opened on 19 May 1844 The Greenmount Independent Church was constituted in the year 1856 The corner stone of the Church was laid by Samuel Knowles on 14 April 1865 and completed in February 1867 The Church became a member of the United Reformed Church on 5 Oct 1972 when the congregational and Presbyterian Church united being joined with the Church of Christ in 1981
