Bracts |-i long, acute; bractletsthe same length, but narrower; pedicels rarelyexceeding the bracts; calyx yellowish, the upperlobe acuminate, 2-2i long, the lower acute,much shorter; corolla yellow, the lower lip 4-5long, with little or no spreading margin; spursubulate, pendent, 23-4 long; capsule subglo-bose, i-i2 in diameter, closely invested by thecalyx-lobes and slightly beaked by the upper one. On wet borders of ponds, and in bogs, New Yorkto Florida to Mississippi, chiefly near the in the West Indies and South America.
