The annual show of the British Dairy FarmersAssociation which took place during the wholeof the last week has added one more to thealready long list of successful dairy exhibitionsheld in the Agricultural Hall. The ratherhappy thought of calling it the National DairyShow u one that deserves continuance, for of last week was truly national inthe right sense of the ^( 3?mrn,U. The show of cattle was a large one, and thereware representatives present of most of thedairy breeds with which we are familiar. Thebulk of the animals were of Shorthorn orChinnol Island blood. It is a pity that Scottishbreeders do not support the show more, andsend down some of their first-class Ayrshirecows. This breed has never done itself justiceat the Dairy Show. There seems to be quite a boom in cheese-making and the entry obtained this year wasa reord-one. The ChcdJu- prizes this year,we are pleised to see, went to West countrymakers, the Scotch dairies with one or twoexceptions only being able to secure the minorcards. Possibly the season has had somethingto do with the superiority of the EnglishCheddar, for the farther north one goes themore the inclemency of .such a season as wehave experienced this year is felt.
