The Gaiety, Irsha Street, Appledore, North Devon - Sunrise over the River Torridge as the incoming tide washes up Moody's Slip beside the Gaiety. Although now luxury apartments, the Gaiety was originally a public theatre built in 1893 by Harold Robert Moody, his initials still appear on one of the keystones on the building. In 1923 the Gaiety had new owners and became a cinema, closing in 1959 with the last film showing, Ice Cold in Alex.
