Emma and Carl Jung, Swiss Psychiatrists

Carl Gustav Jung (1875-1961) was a Swiss psychiatrist and the founder of analytical psychology. Jung is considered the first modern psychiatrist to view the human psyche as "by nature religious" and make it the focus of exploration. Jung is one of the best known researchers in the field of dream analysis and symbolization. The archetype, the collective unconscious, the complex, and synchronicity are psychological concepts conceived by Jung. Though working non-stop in his chosen field he spent time exploring tangential areas: Eastern and Western philosophy, alchemy, astrology, and sociology, as well as literature and the arts. Emma Rauschenbach Jung, (1882-1955) was a psychoanalyst and author. The Jungs married on February 14, 1903, seven years after they first met. After Emma's death, Carl Jung carved a stone in her name, She was the foundation of my house.
