In fact it is an animal with a camels head,a sheeps body and the feet and legs of a deer. It is a proudlittle beast, carries its head high in the air and has altogether anindependent look. It sometimes gets angry, when it will spit insteadof bite, but its sputum is to be dreaded, as it has a very offensiveodor. It is patient and docile and very sensitive to abuse. Indeed itis said that if a llama is harshly spoken to or the whip applied itwill lie down
