I tookthe iirst train for riiiladelphia, and by hiring a carriage at theferi-y was enabled to airive in time to take the train which wasdue at Johnstown a little after 4 P. M. While on the train Ireceived a telegram from Governor Stone, requesting that I shouldrepair to Johnstown at once.
