The Braille shop at the Nebraska State Penitentiary is one of very few places in the US where manual Braille typewriters can still be repaired. Inmates working here are qualified in typing Braille, making Braille maps, books, etc and repairing Braille typewriters. The program is highly successful in teaching inmates a skill that can lead to gainful employment after release.
