Hawaii Army National Guard Soldier, Sgt. 1st Class Fred Dona, a CH-47 Crew Chief with Bravo Company, 2nd Battalion, 211th Aviation Regiment, 103rd Troop Command perform the maximum deadlift (MDL) event during the Army Combat Fitness Test, Waimanalo, Hawaii, April 2, 2021. The MDL is a muscular strength test that represents movements required to safely and effectively lift heavy loads from the ground, jump, bound and tolerate landing. The six-event readiness assessment, ACFT, is intended to replace the current three-event Army Physical Fitness Test, which has been around since 1980.
