The highliy endangered red mistletoe Peraxilla tetrapetala is threatened hard by the introduced Brushtail Possum. The endemic and parasitic plant exists only in very few places on South Island of New Zealand where the possum is scarce by conservation hunting. Die stark gefährdete Rote Mistel Peraxilla tetrapetala ist von eingeschleppten Beuteltieren an den Rand der Ausrottung gebracht worden. Die endemische und parasitäre Pflanze wächst nur noch an wenigen Stellen der Südinsel Neuseeland, an denen Naturschützer die Possums jagen.
