Schwedeswas the first pastor of the congresration, servingfrom June 1888 until September i, 1889. He wassucceeded by Rev. F. B. Hahn, who served untilFebruary, 1893. Rev. Hahn was succeeded by thepresent pastor. Rev. George B. Smith, FebruaryID, 1893. The original edifice has been enhanced bystained glass windows and the installation of apipe organ. In 1913 a suitable Sunday Schoolbuilding was added. The membership is about. Grace United Evangewcal Church five hundred. Besides the Sunday School, theLadies Aid Society and the Womans Mission-ary Society have proven valuable auxilaries tothe congregation. The present consistory is composed of elders:A. C. Frederick B. Hahn Rev. Frederick Bender Hahn, son of Richardand Sophia (Bender) Hahn, was born in Plain-field Township, Northampton County, Pa., Sep-tember 8, 1847. He received his classical train-ing at the Keystone Normal School, MercersbergAcademy, Franklin and Marshall College and histheological in the Eastern Theological was ordained June 30, 1878.
