Mount Fuji (Fujisan) is at 3776 meters Japan's highest mountain. It has been worshiped as a sacred mountain and experiences huge polularity and respect among Japanese people throughout the Fuji is an active volcano, which most recently erupted in 1708. It is located on the border between Yamanashi and Shizuoka Prefectures and can be seen from Tokyo and Yokohama when the weather is clear.
