Skiddaw and Derwentwater from Lodore, Cumbria, England, 20th century. Skiddaw is the sixth highest summit in England and dominates the skyline around Derwentwater, one of the principal bodies of water in the Lake District. It lies wholly within the Borough of Allerdale, in the county of Cumbria and is a place of considerable scenic value, surrounded by hills with many slopes extensively wooded.
