KANEOHE, Hawaii (March 25, 2022) Sailors and Coast Guardsmen assigned to Pacific Fleet and Coast Guard District 14, receive instruction from Ka’imi Johnson, a volunteer coordinator, prior to giving back to Hawaiian residents by cleaning the watershed, controlling erosion, and planting taro in Kaneohe’s Haiku Valley. Hawaii’s central Pacific location has had a strategic military importance for more than half a century and is home to more than 42,000 military personnel.
