Terracotta lekythos (oil flask), Late Archaic, early 5th century , Greek, Attic, Terracotta; Six's technique, H. 3 11/16 in. ( cm), Vases, Seated komast. The komast (reveller) holds up either a beaker-shaped cup or krotala (castanets). The figure was painted onto the surface of the vase in added white. The procedure is known as Six's technique, after the Dutch scholar who first studied it
