Framing of the rich starfield in northern Sagittarius to southern Serpens that contains the bright Messier 24 star cloud at bottom (aka the Small Sagittarius Star Cloud), the emission nebula Messier 17 aka the Swan or Omega Nebula at centre, and Messier 16 or Eagle Nebula at top. The small star cluster Messier 18 is below M17. The small but rich star cluster NGC 6603 is embedded in M24. The cluster Trumpler 32 is obvious above M16. The emission and reflection nebula complex of IC 1284 and NGC 6595 is below M24. The distinct dark nebulas Barnard 92 and Barnard 93 (top) are on the upper edge of M24. The dim patch of red nebulosity above M24 and below M17 is Sharpless 2-44. The separate patch of nebulosity to the right of M17 is IC 4706. Photographed from Alberta, Canada.
