Ratusz Staromiejski (Old Town Hall) is on the left. It was built at the end of the 14 th century in Gothic architectural style, though has received some later Renaissance additions. The former Hanseatic town was the birth place of Mikolaj Kopernik (Nicolaus Copernicus) the famous astronomer.
