All greatly enlarged (from Pergande). NATURAL HISTORY AND HABITS. This species has been well treated by Sanderson and Pergande, and has been found to present a very interesting life history. The shiny, jet-black winter eggs are deposited by the females in the fall around the buds of the more terminal shoots, at crotches of limbs, and in cracks [].
