Description.—Three specimens from the PaUxu Ishiiids were ex- amined, 30 mm., 2() mm., and 5 mm. in lent^th; the hist witli a J) mm. long extension of the test from the posterior end of the body (fior. 89a). Animals attached to .substratum by right or left ventral side or by anterior right side of body. Branchial aperture subterminal, atrial aperture situated near middle of body. Apertures nearly ses- sile or opened on low elevations. Test leatliery, yellowish white, milky white with reddish tint, or dark brownish on dorsal side, but pale on the ventral half. Specimen from sta. 184 w^as yellowish green when alive. Test thin, though slightly thicker on dorsal side, but very tough. Inner side nearly of same color as outer surface, but somewhat ligliter with white pearly glistening. Neighborhood of apertures corrugated or formed into a number of suiall h)bes, carries a small amount of mud.
