The boiler at Queens Mill in Burnley.

The boiler at Queens Mill in Burnley. The mill is powered by a steam engine, built over 100 years ago and is still powering the mill today. The mill is believed to be the only steam powered weaving mill working in the world. The weaving shed at Queens mill was used as a location for filming the Kings speech. At one time the Lancashire cotton industry, clothed the world. The steam powered industry, fuelled by coal, was the start of large scale carbon emissions, which set us on the road to anthropomorphic climate change. In its hey day, the boiler was consumming 6 tons of coal a day.
