Visitors look at a display of data sniffed from their own cellphones, computers and mobile devices at Astro Noise, the first solo exhibit by artist Laura Poitras at the Whitney Museum of American Art in New York City on February 3, 2016. earlier in the exhibit these images are captured unbeknownst to those laying on the platform. Poitras, a filmmaker, artist and journalist best known for helping to break the Edward Snowden story, created the exhibition as an immersive multimedia experience examining topics such as mass surveillance, the war on terror, the Drone Program, Guantanamo Bay Prison, occupation and torture.
