It is intended that this new American historicalmonthly will be the means of inquiry and communicationbetween the members of various American Patriotic-Hereditary Associations; to chronicle their proceedings,and to preserve in its pages matters of historical valueand of personal interest to their members. It seeks the supjxirt of all these Associations. Eachone which sends reports of its proceedings and celebra-tions, will be accorded an impartial part of the space setapart for such matters. The Historical Register will be conducted byan editor-in-chief, and the interests of each of the hered-itary societies will be looked after by a member of thatsociety who will be an associate
