The Badger straight line hanger, of which an externaland a section view are shown, is designed as an improve-ment o\er the well known •• West End type. Insteadof having the usual screw cap on top of the bell, where itis exposed and liable to be lost if it becomes loose from. EXTERIOR LINK HANGER. the continual jar of the trolley, it is screwed in frombelow. This not only axoids it being lost but will pre-vent the effect of the weather on the threads and leavesthe outside shell of the bell a continuous casting. Thisbell will do away withthe mysterious shortcircuits which occurfrom a cap falling offof the old style hangerand the trolley wheelpressing the clip upagainst the shell of thebell, thereby ground-ing it unless the spanis well insulated. Assoon as the car haspassed, the ground is gone and is very dithcult to the thread from beneath the head of the insulatedstud will prevent the collar from falling to the groundand the trolley wire will sa<r from the hanger, notifving
