Pister, popular through the PisterTransfer and Oil Company. He was born at Abingdon, Knox County, 111., in 1891, theson of Charles Pister, who was a manufacturer at that place of brick and tile. Hedid a large business in central Illinois and eastern Iowa, and made for himself, byhis enterprising methods and fair dealing, an enviable reputation which followed himto California, when he came here in 1909. He is now engaged in the raising of orangesat Orange. Carl was educated in the public schools, and was graduated from the high schoolat .\bingdon in 1909. During his high school course, he worked, in summer time, at thebutcher trade, learning from his uncle, F.
