On Mar. 6, 1657, Mr. John Ogden was one of six men chosen at townmeeting to arbitrate concerning land at Southampton which was claimed bymen of East Hampton. Apr. 30, 1657, John Ogden was named as one of forty men who were tohave half a pound of powder a peece delivered unto ye undernamed per-sons out of ye magazen. At town meeting held June 2, 1657, it was voted that Edward Howelland John Ogden should adjudge unlawful cattle and horses in the ox pas-ture and turn them out.
