Members of Doyle's White Company, with Alleyne one of the leaders, are heading out to join the Prince of Wales.
This illustration is by American artist and illustrator Wyeth and accompanied Scottish writer Arthur Conan Doyle's historical adventure titled "The White Company," whose action was set during the Hundred Years' War. In this image, the members of the White Company, with Alleyne one of the leaders, are heading out to join the Prince of Wales. Soon after, they traveled through a narrow ravine where they are attached by French and Spanish troops—most are killed, but the British do continue the battle and win the Battle of Najera. Alleyne is knighted for his bravery and deeds by the Prince.
