City Forester Julius Koenig and his assistant, Fred Pape, started out a force of men last week to look after the sidewalk trees in the different sec- tions of the city. C. Young & Sons Co. has window displays of seeds and garden imple- ments, which always are attractive to the passing ^blic at this time of the year. Mail order business is large and keeps some of the help working extra time. Sanders' Nursery, H. J. Weber & Sons Co. and J. W. Schuette, our local nurserymen, have had a busy week. The good weather brought in a large number of orders for all kinds of nur- sery stock. All the landscape gar- deners, too, have started work. A. S. Halstead, of Belleville, called last week. Mr. Halstead has turned over the management of the St. Clair Floral Co. to his son, Kester, as he is now president of a large brass foun- dry, which requires all his attention. Robert Thomson, the local green- house builder, says he has plenty of work ahead for local florists. Martin Reukauf, with H. Bayers- dorfer & Co., Philadelphia, called on the trade last week. The County Growers' Association will hold its monthly meeting April 2. Secretary Deutchmann is sending out strong notices to the members, as this will be an important meeting. The meeting will be held in their regular hall at 8 o'clock. A n
