. Our army nurses : interesting sketches and photographs of over one hundred of the noble women who served in hospitals and on battlefields during our late Civil War, 1861-65 . en General Early made his raid on Chambers-bnrg, and fired it; and how the brave boys who Averejnst getting about, forgot their weakness and wereready to take up arms; how the places of businesswere all closed in Philadelphia, as the owners wereoff to defend the city. After leaving the service, on account of poorhealth, I was married to a soldier of the 19thMaine Volunteers, and of this marriage eightchildren were born, seven of whom are now living, and they are a great blessing and comfort to me. Ihave taken pleasure in instructing them in the greatprinciples of patriotism, and it is a standing jokeamong them that they have Civil War for break-fast, dinner, and supper. I left the Catholic Church, and have been aBaptist for fifteen years. I am trusting only inChrist. And I now send up a prayer to ourHeavenly Father to preserve in my children trueloyalty to our country, — the dearest and best in thethe woild. Yours in F., C. and L., Margaret HAMiLTOisr. 70 Elm Street, Wakefield, MARGARET A. WEED.
