Washington (April 24, 2017) Aviation Boatswain's Mate (Equipment) 2nd Class Mackenzie Poskevich, from Sioux, Iowa, performs periodic maintenance aboard USS John C. Stennis (CVN 74) on a shiv damper crosshead, part of the arresting gear. John C. Stennis is conducting a planned incremental availability (PIA) at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and Intermediate Maintenance Facility, during which the ship is undergoing scheduled maintenance and upgrades.
