Madrid, Spain. 6th Mar 2019. The traditional “Burial of the Sardine” ceremony takes place in Madrid to give an end of the Carnival celebrations and begining the 40 days lent before Easter. It consists of a parade that parodies a funeral in which a symbolic figure in the shape of a sardine is burned.
