Bahia Blanca estuary, satellite image. North is at right. Vegetation is green, water is yellow/brown, mudflats are brown, urbanised areas appear multicoloured and cloud cover is white. Bahia Blanca (lower right) is a port city situated in the south east province of Buenos Aires, Argentina, near the mouth of the Arroyo Naposta river (bottom left). The name of the city means White Bay, and is derived from the colour of the salt deposits on its shores. This image was obtained from the International Space Station during Expedition 14, on 14th October, 2006.
