Gaza, Palestine. 07 June 2020. Members of the Al-Quds Brigades, the military wing of Palestine Islamic Jihad, take part in a symbolic funeral of their former leader Ramadan Shalah in Gaza City. The farewell in Gaza had been organised by Palestine Islamic Jihad to pay respect to Shalah, who had led the organisation from 1995 until 2018. Shalah, 62, was buried in Damascus on Sunday after passing away on Saturday because of a long illness. Palestine Islamic Jihad was founded in the late seventies in the Gaza Strip following the Israeli occupation of Gaza and the West Bank during the 1967 war
