Around 1700 businesses and homes were damaged across the Lancashire district in the lead up to New Year in 2016. His Royal Highness was presented by a stick of rock by one wellwisher. He met local school children and members of the community to learn about the recovery that has been achieved by the local people. Prince Harry officially reopened the village hall at a reception attended by those who played a crucial role in response to the flooding crisis.
